MA/MFA Degree Details
The Cultural Arts, Service, and Action MA/MFA Program is tailored for students passionate about honing their abilities in Language and Design, Media, and Performing Arts, while actively engaging in local community hubs dedicated to service and social justice. The program is designed to foster students' understanding of their roles within cultural arts, intricately intertwined with the backdrop of localized histories, service, and the pursuit of social justice.

Students will be offered specialization in the three following areas
Media Arts with a focus on sound and visual design.
Journalism and Language Arts with an emphasis on translation.
Theater Arts and Facilitation, with a particular emphasis on social justice praxis and pedagogy.

Students will have the opportunity participate as a summer intern at one of the CASA’s working directly with the community in cultural arts and service.

The program prepares graduates for multiple career paths in education, community, and non-profit organizations. Students will be skilled in working with multi-generational communities. They also have the option of staying within the CASA and working directly in community.
